overview
FiberAdmin replaces the spreadsheets, group chats, paper forms, and disconnected inventory tools used by fiber contractors with one operational system. A work order becomes the central record from client request through assignment, installation, reconciliation, and reporting.
problem
Field work crosses office planning, depot inventory, technicians, subcontractors, customers, and proof of completion. If permissions, stock reservations, offline forms, state transitions, and audit history are not modeled together, the organization loses both speed and accountability.
approach
I built separate desktop administration and mobile-first worker experiences on one multi-tenant Convex backend. Inventory uses an append-only ledger, work orders follow explicit transitions, completion reconciles every material movement, and role-scoped functions protect data at the backend boundary.
outcome
The deployed product covers scheduling, maps, teams, vehicles, equipment, depots, inventory handover, offline-persistent field completion, appointment links, reports, webhooks, audit history, and an optional operations copilot.
